Advertising Photography Tips for Models

Modelling for advertising photography is always about being as close as possible to real life. And therefore the models should understand the difference between fashion photography and advertising photography. Advertising photography, unlike fashion photography, has more to do with real people and their lives. Therefore the models have to pose accordingly. In this blog, I would give you two very important, quite useful but often neglected techniques that will help you look more natural and closer to real life.

The first thing that I am going to talk about is the slouch. No matter how much your Mum stressed on the importance of sitting in the right posture by keeping the spine straight, when posing for advertising photography, it is always good to slouch a little. The slouch gives a more natural look to the picture.

The next tip is to try out different expressions. Modelling in advertising photography is all about different expressions. Real life is all about different kind of emotions. So a model should be able to put forth the right expressions. A great way to emote well is by practising different expressions in front of the mirror.
